Communicating Alarm System
Following the publication of my last article of listening awareness, one of the comments I had was that although the article itself was very good, we must also remember that there is more to good communication skills to listen … It also means being able to interpret body language.
How true! So this time I would like to help us get to know and communication skills, even better than using them to learn.
So what is body language? This is an unconscious attempt to createbalance between emotions and appearances. It is through communication, movement or positioning of our body that we are standing or sitting, facial expression and walk. Try watching a TV with audio out, and we usually be interpreted as an aggressive person or depressed surprise – or the body of a language.
Not granted, the body language is always infallible, because it must be accompanied by what is said is interpreted and can be influenced by the speakerindividual habits. This is not a language in itself, this is only part of the spectrum of communication. For example, if we see a person in the room to cry, you probably do not know if they are sad or scared or happy, because crying can symbolize many different emotions.
Here are just some examples of body language and their possible interpretations:
Bite nails = nervous, uncertain
Drumming fingers = Restless, impatient
Rub both hands = Anticipation, impatient
Thinking = cheek resting on his hand, assessment
His arms folded across chest = division
Eye precipitate = Guilty, boredom
Rubs eyes = disbelief, doubt
Rubs nose = uncertain, the refusal
Rest your head on the palm = boredom and despair
Head with the title of one side = interested, listen
Hands on hips = Aggressive, authoritative
Kicking foot while walking or sitting = boredom
Interested = lean forward
Now you must remember to take into account apersonal habits (as we know it). For example, when I fold my arms over his chest, it's usually because I'm cold, or to assess with my head crooked. Yes, this is my point: the body language is not one-size-fits-all in every situation.
But as we become more aware of our own body language and habits that will help us more aware of others. Furthermore, we will be able to better assess whether the person or people we are talking to her attention, if you take care of what wesay, when we hit a nerve, or if you are not honest with us. This is a communication signal / alarm / alarm system already installed, was the only thing we know how to use it properly. How cool is that?
