Bulldog Talking Security Alarm

I installed the Bulldog alarm and am happy that the volume is loud and is a detractor to those that may try vandalism or theft.
Not too Bad, But not very loud.

I bought this alarm because my truck was stolen. It's very easy to install and works pretty well. It just isn't loud enough in my opinion. The talking part is pretty silly. I would reccomend it for what is, A very cheap easy to install car alarm.

Another thing I didn't like was getting a clearly refurbished unit when I paid for a new one. It seemed to be be factory refurbished so I just installed it rather than go through all the trouble of returning it. Thanks Amazon.
Bulldog - Poor Electronics

DON'T BUY THIS JUNK!

I purchased a Bulldog Remote Talking Alarm that slowly died over a period of three days and then stopped working completely. It started out with a short range of about 60 feet that continued to shrink until I was standing directly in front of my truck, about one foot. All functions stopped completely on the third day. I returned the unit and in about three weeks I was sent a brand new one. This one was worse. All it does is say "Thank You" after connecting the positive lead to the battery.

I must point out that I know what I am doing when it comes to electronics. I have worked in electronics for 30 years, hold an FCC license with Radar Endorsement and I have taught electronics in New York City for five and a half years.

For two units to be bad this quickly (brand new) tells me that Bulldog electronics are unreliable and a waste of money. I am not going to put any more of my time and money on shipping the bad unit back to only get another Bulldog that I can not rely on. My goal is security of my vehicle and at this point I can't trust Bulldog to do the job.

I write this in the hopes of helping someone else avoid the cost and frustration of buying a Bulldog alarm and Heaven forbid, the loss of their vehicle due to the bad electronics of Bulldog.

You are one of many car owners are thinking of buying a burglar alarm? If not, then you should. Think about it. The cars we drive the most expensive items are often our own. For many people, myself included, is also the most important thing we will never be.

We use our cars and trucks to make us all the important places, we go to school, work, medical offices and even for food. Needless to say it's just a little 'understandableTherefore, we want to protect this important and integral part of our life in every way possible, and choose a burglar alarm systems installed.

Many people often make silly mistakes in the shop for a car-alarm, and is mainly due to lack of knowledge. They do not know what is available and what works best for their needs. There are many times they are forced to buy an expensive system that they do not need an aggressivethe seller wants to run errands. Here are some important things that need to be aware before you use the money for a car-alarm system:

Before you start, it's a good idea to learn as much as possible about all the different characteristics of alarm combo and skills. I found the best way is not simply a web search. Alarm systems for cars are no longer produced today, with various forms of monitoring via wireless communication with your car andanother reason why it is so important for you to understand what characteristics are important when looking for the right combo alarm.

Read something known as sensors of breaking glass. This offset the car alarm when the window is pretty hard blow to the glass shattered. This is a great feature to have, as alarms are mostly just designed to sit when the door is open.

I'm sure after all that the previous research, as you did, you knowexits from a distance. If not, then you should probably go back and read to understand how it works. They are actually custom features installed for the protection and convenience. An example of one of these is a remote vehicle starter and keyless entry. Most if not all car alarm systems are equipped with one or more of these isolated outputs.

If possible, try an alarm that uses passive arming to find. This is useful for those of us who have alarmsbut always seem to forget that they are poor. A system with a passive coupling, it will do for you fifteen to twenty seconds after you park your car and turn off.

Now that you have a correct understanding of the properties listed above, you can start collecting and what you want. Make a list of all the car alarms needs and desires and start creating your combo. Are you ready to shop around for an alarm system that fits the list of needs.

You can installalarm system itself, but it takes a lot of skills and knowledge on the electrical system of the car. It is better to leave it in the capable hands of an installer. The store you purchased the system from the shop more than likely have installed on systems they sell. Most of the time is actually a part of the total price. Deciding whether to install it yourself or have it installed by a professional.
